Bathing Machine

Our Museum catalogues - objects and photos - are accessible online, so researchers can find out what we have in our collection.

This is our original Edwardian bathing machine which was rescued from the River Beach in Teignmouth. Bathing machines were a popular sight here since the early days of sea-bathing, when the first visitors came to the seaside resort in the 1770s.

The Museum Data Service has officially launched, marking a transformative moment for the UK’s cultural sector 🎉

The platform will bring together over 100 million object records from museums and collections across the UK. We’re part of the launch with an initial collection of 3,129,798 records from 21 museums.
